Mother and son charged in alleged fraud scheme against elderly relative

OREGON, OH -A Lucas County grand jury indicted a mother and her son on 44 counts in an alleged fraud scheme involving theft from a person in a protected class, forgery and receiving stolen property. According to police, when the accused woman’s mother entered a nursing home, the pair began writing checks out of the elderly woman’s checking account without her knowledge. Both mother and son are currently in the Lucas County Jail with more charges pending.
